Contact UsReno, NV (April 29, 2025) – Approximately 4:45 this morning, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) received reports of a structure fire in the 3900 block of Aspen Hollow, off of Thomas Creek Parkway and Mt. Rose HWY.
The first arriving engine from Reno Fire arrived on the scene within 10 minutes to a fully involved single-story house fire. Several TMFR and Reno Fire units arrived shortly thereafter.
Crews accessed the structure but were pulled back due to a roof collapse. Crews continued to make access until they transitioned to defensive firefighting operations, fighting the fire from the structure’s exterior to protect exposures and prevent fire spread. Truckee Meadows Water Authority assisted with added water pressure for fire crews.
The fire was contained to the structure of origin. No further structures were damaged.
Eight Engines and two ladder trucks from TMFR and Reno Fire responded. Four ambulances were on scene—three from REMSA and one from TMFR. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the incident.
Initial reports included occupants trapped inside the structure. Three adult occupants were inside the residence at the time of the fire; one patient was transported for smoke inhalation, one remained on scene, and one is deceased.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Thank you to Reno Fire for the support and cooperation with automatic aid. We are also grateful to the Nevada Peer Support Network for supporting our first responders at this incident.
