Be A Part Of The Cause

Be an active community member in assisting to protect neighborhoods and prepare communities to be fire safe. Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) Volunteer Program thanks you for your interest in becoming a member of our team. Our current onboarding process is a continuation of the Volunteer Transition Plan. The District continues to improve the structure and training of community members wishing to volunteer. There are various opportunities to serve.

How We Utilize Volunteers:

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue uses volunteers in wildland fire suppression, weather
events, and support functions.

Applications Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a physical, including a drug test and background check.
  • Current Driver’s License

We have a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drug abuse.
