Nevada Senate Bill 319, passed in 2025, mandates a regional fire study board to research the viability of consolidating Reno Fire, Sparks Fire, and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. The entities hired Emergency Global Solutions (EGS), through a competitive RFP process, to conduct the study, beginning with a public informational session on March 19.
The public is invited to meet EGS and hear from the respective fire chiefs about the project. This study, which will be delivered this fall, is non-binding and serves only to inform the local jurisdictions of the pros and cons and viability of the concept.
