Civilian Fatality Confirmed in Connection with Hawk Fire

RENO, Nev. — On August 27, 2026, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) was notified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office of a civilian fatality associated with the Hawk Fire.

An individual who was transferred for medical care following injuries sustained during the incident has succumbed to their injuries.

Out of respect for the privacy of the individual and their loved ones, no further details regarding the individual or the circumstances surrounding their death will be released.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District extends its condolences to the individual’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
