REMINDER: Locations for Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Autumn 2025 Green Waste Collection

Reno, NV (October 6, 2025) – Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) will launch its Green Waste Collection Days this month over the next three weekends.

Free green waste disposal offers the best alternative to creating defensible space, reducing the risk of property damage, injury, and loss of life.  Green waste collection allows residents to dispose of their dry and dead vegetation, shrubs, tree branches, and other wildland fuels to encourage the creation of defensible space to protect homes and property from wildfires.  This is a free event sponsored by the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District for all Washoe County residents, with support from Nevada Division of Forestry and Waste Management.

This season’s green waste collection will include dumpsters provided by Waste Management at designated locations. Residents must unload their green waste and dispose of it in the dumpsters at those locations. TMFR personnel will be on-site at all locations.

Green Waste Collection will take place beginning at 9am until 4pm, weather permitting at the following locations (check www.tmfpd.com prior to the event to ensure it has not been canceled due to weather conditions or a Red Flag Warning):
