Contact UsReno, NV (Mar. 6, 2026) – Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) will conduct pile burn operations on Sunday, March 8, weather permitting, at the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Station (11525 Red Rock Road). Approximately 40 piles will be ignited.
Smoke might impact the Red Rock area. Please use caution when driving on Red Rock Road due to limited visibility. Residents of Silver Lake and North Valleys could be affected by smoke if inversions set in after the ignitions. Pile burns will be attended to at all times.
If you are sensitive to smoke, please stay indoors or limit your time outdoors with windows and doors closed. Please don’t report smoke in the area to our local dispatch centers.
